Lucie Ann of Beverly Hills Lingerie Lusciousness

Why Lucie Ann of Beverly Hills Makes Me Feel Worth A Million

For those of you who haven't ever heard of the vintage lingerie label, Lucie Ann of Beverly Hills, please allow me to introduce you!

Lucie Ann of Beverly Hills was a very reputable lingerie and "loungewear" company that began in 1947 by Lucie Ann Onderwyzer. She was a designer who held a special passion for lingerie filled with luxury. You can tell she was meticulous in her fashions by looking at her use of materials in her creations, such as this one, I luckily still have the rare opportunity to own. Take a look here at the looped bead detail she used on the bell sleeve of this beauty:

Lucie Ann was noted for using nylon fabric in her designs as well as "marabou" - which is the proper design term for feathers like on a boa. On this particular one, she cleverly makes it super sexy and appealing with its plunging neckline but smartly allows the lady to feel covered by adding this nude placket of nylon fabric I am showing off below:

She was so passionate about her designs and over the top sex appeal as well as located in the proper area to begin getting noticed by the infamous Beverly Hills TV and movie stars. Most notably, Eva Gabor often was seen on the tv show "Green Acres" flowing around her ranch home wearing Lucie Ann's frothy gowns.  Here she is wearing Lucie Ann of Beverly Hills originals in these clips:

Aren't these magic? She wore them well, didn't she?

As you know - I am just slightly...

OBSESSED

with vintage clothing labels.

Over the years I have learned that the label is a dead give away for being able to date the product correctly. Over the years of a clothing company, they will change up the label look, this has stood to be true over the test of time in clothing manufacturing. Here's the label from my lingerie lusciousness, showing me that this was one of her originals dating to the 1950's.

For those readers who love to hear the story behind my items, this was consigned with me from two sisters. The sisters have consigned with us for over 20 years due to their mother, Dorothy, who consigned with our shop since Day 1. Sadly, she suffered a tragic fall in her kitchen and passed away. She was a very successful realtor along with her husband, who enjoyed properties at the lake and Mexico and had a KILLER wardrobe we got to consign upon her passing.

It was told to us, that she wore this as a evening gown to one of her fancy schmancy dinner events - she apparently attended a very prominent huge gala once a year with her husband for other successful realtors.

If you are interested in purchasing this item from me, it's still available in my Etsy shop. You can check out the measurements and other details about it by clicking HERE
